Dates Eating Sundaes
Ray and I went out last night for drinks. While we were in the pub we decided to treat ourselves to a desert. We were tempted to have two separate choices but it worked out cheaper (and you know how I love to save every penny I can) if we shared something called an Ultimate Sharing Sundae. It sounded lovely:
Chocolate fudge cake, profiteroles, vanilla flavour ice cream, Cadbury’s Crunchie Nuggets and chocolate flakes with chocolate flavour fudge sauce and a whip of creamAnd it was. But it was also huge. It was apparently meant for two people to share but I think even four would have struggled. I ate as much as I could but I had to leave the rest for Ray. I think I must have gained about fifty pounds just by looking at it!
We ended the evening in Tesco - yes, we are that hardcore ;) We bought two storage boxes (blue and black, not silver and black, though) for the bedroom. While I fell in love with all the circus kitchen accessories, which all appeared to be on the sale, which probably means they won't be available for much longer :( I can't wait 'til we can properly dress the kitchen.
Now then, do you want to test how smart you are? It's an english test. I am a writer, an avid reader, and English is my first language... yet I only got 15/20! Test Your Brain. Let me know how you got on :)

Sisterhood
Yoda's doing really well - thanks for the messages :) I've calmed down a lot now after seeing how quickly he's recovering. He's eating on his own (to start with you had to sit with him and fuss him to make him eat) and he's off the really strong morphine-style painkillers; he's on the more normal ones now. He's sleeping a lot, which is good because it means he's using all his energy to heal himself. I still can't bring myself to take a photo of him in his cage. He just looks so sad and sore. Maybe when he's a bit better I'll get a picture.
My parents went away for the night this weekend. We all went down the pub - baby sister, as well, which was very nice. I don't think me and Amber have spoken to each other properly in about a month! I know it sounds awful but I think it's just that yo-yo effect thing, where we were beyond close a few years ago (as in mother/daughter type relationship) and then she grew up and didn't need me in the same way and so pulled very far away to make sure I knew that. It hurt at the time, and there were many tears, but now I can see that subconsciously she needed to do that; and I was probably doing something subconsciously to her as well. Anyway, she came down the pub with us for a little while, stopping for a drink before catching her bus into town to see her friends. She called me a pervert for taking pictures of Ray's bum. Pervert? Me? Never! She gave me a hug when she left, as well, which made me feel all warm inside. I do love my cuddles, especially ones I'm not expecting.
That night the three of us came home after many games of pool (I won, I won!), and watched Jaws 3. I've never seen the third Jaws film before. It was made the year I was born, apparently. It was pants. It was beyond pants. It was just... no, not good at all. And the bit at the end, where the CGI-shark just floats into the window without swimming, just floating forward... oh dear, I did laugh. I wonder what Jaws 4 will be like next week. And what series of films will be played after that?
This morning I was meant to be going with Jemma when she gets a filling in her wisdom tooth. But, after waking early and getting down to the bus stop, we received a phone call from Mammy saying that the dentist had called. The x-ray has been re-studied by a new dentist (this one private not NHS) and it's been decided the tooth will be taken out instead. So we came home. Early morning for nothing. I even put mascara on to mask my tired eyes! She'll be having her tooth-ectomy some time next month under sedation, which she is much happier about.
Please visit Martha's blog. She's adorable, you know ;)

Announcments and Let Downs
So, the big announcement...
I'm not pregnant. I'm not moving out (yet), and, no, I'm not engaged. It's something no one will have thought of...
Please, please, please go and read all about her life. She's such a vain Old English Sheepdog and will be very upset if she doesn't get heaps of visitors. For those who don't know, Martha is my sister's very outspoken dog. So instead of her talking to me non-stop, I gave her blog back so she could talk to everyone else as well!
I had a lovely time down the pub Saturday afternoon. It was lovely and warm for once so we took advantage and walked the dogs down the pub. Sweepie got very over-excited by the traffic and nearly passed out with her frantic Pug breathing. And then when we got to the pub, she jumped on my lap and left a bit of poo on my top - lovely. This could only happen to me! I have to admit it did make me laugh, especially when I was stood in the pub's toilets trying to wash it off with wet, cheap toilet roll that kept disintigrating.
After that excitement, I got the new photo album out and finished adding the photos that we got printed (a 200-pager wasn't enough so we had to get another photo album this weekend):

Sweepie didn't want to sit on the floor because she couldn't see what was going on from there, so she sat on the bench with us. But because I was working on the photo album she had to sit on her father's lap... As you can see she wasn't so keen on that arrangement:

If you go to Martha's blog you can read her account of the day, as well. Really shows how people see events differently, doesn't it? Makes you think.
Yesterday I went to see The Simpsons movie. That was a letdown. It just wasn't as good as you'd expect it to be, considering they waited so long to make a film version. I wasn't impressed.
Last night I started the new Harry Potter book. Yes, I know it's a week late but Mammy didn't pick up the pre-ordered copy until this weekend. She knew how excited I was to read it so she's let me read it first (thanks, Mammy). I'm going to dedicate the rest of my day to it. A spoiler-free review will be added to the site in the next couple of days I'm sure...
Go and read MARTHA'S BLOG - now!

Bum Love, Car Love, Pub Love
The weekend was good.
I didn't have to go to the rugby. I was planning on going but Jem was really ill and then Ray got ill as well so I didn't. I spent the afternoon looking after them both while playing Halo 2. Yes, I've completed 1 and have already moved onto 2. I don't know what I'm going to do once I've completed this one cos there is no 3. I'll have to find a new game to get obsessed over.
I didn't think I'd end up going out Saturday night but Ray got better at about 9ish so I suggested we go for a drink. We went down to see the rugby boys but there weren't many left. In fact, only the middle-aged ones were - and I don't get on with them well. I walked in and one of the more disgusting ones walked around behind me and said something about how I hadn't been shagged up the arse yet! I'm curious as to how he'd know such a thing just from looking! Understandably, Ray got pissed off with him, especially when he continued being an arse. In the end his friend took him away. We only stayed for one drink cos there was only the kids left. I don't mind being there with the kids, they're decent enough, but I'd already exhausted that avenue of conversation the night before. The kids are quite slutty, you see, and like to sleep with one another on a rotational basis. I didn't understand how it all worked so Ray told me what he'd learned from them during his stint of working behind the bar. I was fascinated, to be honest.
Anyway, we decided the other pub would be better so we went there. And it was. Much better. Even got a free drink off Ray's boss! In fact, we were so deeply engrossed in conversation we didn't notice the pub had emptied and the barman had even cleared away the bar. Oops.
Sunday we took Sweepie for a long walk. We're teaching her to come back when she's called. Her main issues is with cars. She just doesn't like them. When they drive past her she lunges at them. And if she's off the lead when they go past she chases them! Which is no good at all really. She was surprisingly very, very good. And she's quite slutty - she found about four different boyfriends during her walk. She was exhausted by the time we got back to the car and slept on my lap all the way home. Aww.
It was great when we got back cos Mammy had cooked dinner so I didn't even have to cook! It was funny cos Daddy pulled the table out and set place-mats down and stuff just cos Ray was there. Usually we all eat in front of the TV! It was quite sweet really cos they're both trying to get to know Ray now cos I think they've just worked out he’s sticking around - took them seven months to figure that one out! Plus Daddy's been a right arse to me lately so I think he's trying to make it up to me by being nice to Ray. My younger sister didn't take to it all very well at all and ended up stomping around, pushing Ray very rudely out of the way. By the time I'd figured out what she'd done she'd already ran off again so I couldn't even tell her off for it. It was too good a day to spoil arguing anyway so neither one of us could be bothered to argue with her about it.
We were gonna go down the pub again last night (like, the fourth day in a row now I think!) but it was closed so we just headed back to Ray's to say hello to everyone.
Today I got back to my writing. At last, it's all working again! I hate it when I can't write. (read more) It doesn't happen often but when it does I panic like hell. And tonight I'm getting food cooked for me by Ray so that's my second day without having to cook. I could get used to this. . .
Oh, and I was lucky this time: the tonsil only hurt for a couple of days. So hopefully there'll be no more tonsil ache for the rest of the year!
