Torchwood and Day Time TV

I'm still ill - yep, still. It's been two weeks now and I am getting a bit depressed by it all. The penicillin isn't really making me feel any better so I suspect another trip to the doctors will be needed once they run out later this week. Urgh.

So I've made myself a new layout featuring Torchwood. The acting isn't so good but it's set in Cardiff and so I feel compelled to love it. It's strangely addictive. Sunday night's @ 10pm on BBC3.

When ill all you really do is watch TV. I think I'm losing my mind to daytime TV...

Slow Death Pains

I am still alive... just about. I'm ill - yes, again. This one has been the worst so far and it's had me crashed out on the sofa for over a week now. It started as a cold, developed into a stomach bug (thankfully I didn't vomit!), became the flu, gave me an eye infection and finally sent me packing to the doctors' who was very impressed with how badly my lungs/chest is congested. Mmmmmm nice. So, sorry for not answering emails, commenting on posts and basically just being around to say hello to. I'm hoping to be back to normal by Monday... fingers crossed anyway.

Fightstar @ the Solus Bar

I'm home from Portugal. I had a really nice time. I took far too many pictures to actually go through them and post so you'll just have to use your imaginations. I didn't do much sunbathing; I was out most days soaking up Portaguese life. It's nice to be home again, though.

Tuesday evening I went to see Fightstar in Cardiff. I was front-row-centre so I have some fantastic bruises. It was a really, really good gig. And I took lots of pictures. I've put all my really good ones Here (follow the link at the bottom of that page to view them all). I thought I'd share some of the funnier shots here, though.

Firstly, Charlie wore no shoes or socks. I love bare feet so I was very much in approval of his choice:

Lexi and Dan rocking out so much they blurred:

Lexi and Charlie doing the same:

Then Charlie again:

This is me and Jem about halfway through the gig. Jem's arm is covered in lager that some people kept chucking from behind. We thought it funny how plain we looked compared to all the dark-make-up/extreme-coloured-hair people everywhere around us.

And finally a couple of pretty pictures. Lexi:

And Dan, who nicely posed for the picture:

Palahnuiks Laughter has become my new favourite track :)

Sad news, though, when I was on my way home from the gig: Baz has died. That's Ray's car if you didn't know. He died. We knew he was on his way out but we were hoping he'd hang on a little while longer. It's very sad. We'll be burying him next month.

Sweepie says hello to everyone - she's taken to sitting on my lap when I update the sites. She is right now sprawled in my arms, getting annoyed cos I keep typing and waking her up. I think she missed me while I was away.

Holiday Hiatus

I'm off to Portgual tomorrow morning. I got my packing finished in about ten minutes (!) and am now looking forward to sunning myself on the beach and looking at pretty buildings. See you next week!

Weekend Catch Up

I meant to blog a couple of days ago but never got round to it. So now I have a whole weekend to catch up with. And what better way to do it than with pictures?

So, Saturday it was rugby day. Because did I mention my pet-sitting job got cancelled? Well, it did. So I had a great night Friday. And Saturday I was at the rugby as usual. The 2nds played. And the game was boring. They're all egos so the game was thwart with in-fighting and backstabbing. I left early.

Back at the pub Jem and I got dolled up. And when we got really bored all over again we texted Ray and told him to come down and amuse us.

Then we headed off to Deep Pan for some food. On the way down it started lightning, which was so, so pretty. The rain was amazing and we had to run through it to get from the car to the building. Jem, being spoilt and far more whiney than me, got the coat.

We ate a very expensive meal and ended up taking home half the pizza cos we were so full.

It didn't rain when we left.

Back at home we used Mia's head as a cup-holder. She seemed to like it. She's a very strange cat.

And Martha jumped on my lap for a cuddle.

The following day it was time for lunch with the in-laws, hehehe. I've never had so many proper Sunday Dinners. I'm so spoilt. I had chocolate cake this week as well - yum.

This is Duke, who I've shown before. What I found out this time was that he did security on Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. Bloody famous dog!

Later in the evening, Jemma and Martha decided to do the Owner Who Looks Like Pet thing:

Today was a lazy day. I battled with my pictures and the DVD/CD-RW and after a long afternoon got it sorted. I also finished the final Dark Tower book. Shall I go into a rant? No, probably not. I can't be bothered. And it wouldn't be a rant anyway; I was disappointed. No, not with the actual ending (although the one bit I did have issues with was the first ending) but with the whole book. It was like he couldn't bothered anymore. Time skipped really quickly, people died, monsters were defeated and all in the blink of an eye. There was no passion in this one. It was just like he couldn't be bothered anymore. Heck, maybe he couldn't. Who knows? It left me feeling quite down to be honest. I liked the actual ending, by the way. If you'd have asked me before reading it if I thought that was gonna be the ending I would have said yes. Not that I'm saying it was predictable; it was just ... right, I guess. The whole everything's a circle thing he had going on. So, yes, good story, but badly told. Isn't that how most of Stephen King's books are though? As a fan of his, I have to say yes.

So tonight I had McDonalds chips and Subway's Veggie Delite sarnie for tea, sitting down by the beach. Naturally, I did the whole advertisment of the products thing:

I took a heap of pictures of the sky. And the sun setting! You can see them all here.

And someone snapped the photographer at work!

Shocking!

This site needs sorting out. I just recently did a new layout for it but I haven't quite clicked with it. So when I next get some free time I'll get designing.

I'm still not sleepy...
