Wireless, Cameras, Sheep & Tango

It took a week but I finally battered AOL down and they sorted out my problems with home networking. It would seem that the DNS needed to be flushed on the main computer. Simple as that. Oh, and I needed to select manual WEP key on the adapter. But all sorted now. And I am making my first blog via my own computer in my own bedroom.

It's not really a computer to use if you want to download heaps or open lots of windows, cos it's only a Windows 98SE but it gets the job done. I'll continue to do my updating downstairs probably. I set Amber's computer up as well so once all her junk is off the machine downstairs it should be flying.

Picture time now, isn't it? Of course.

Well, the puppies escaped from the garden the other day. And when I got them back in I stung my pinkie - and it bloody hurt! I haven't stung myself on a nettle since I was a kid.

Ray came over after work to find his new camera had arrived. He was so excited by it - his first digi-camera. The original one he bought was broken so he's had to wait an extra month to get this one. He just looked so dorky:

That evening we went up Betws Mountain (Can you belive those idiots on that website are actually apposing wind turbines?) to try out the new camera. It was so pretty up there. I took heaps of sky pictures but I haven't uploaded them all yet. Here's one I did:

And we met some sheep too:

We had a drink in Rumours and headed home.

Yesterday it was pastie and chips for tea in the park, with a can of Tango of course. I am addicted to Tango - seriously. When we went shopping this week I suggested we get a six-pack of them to keep in my fridge (oh yeah, my fridge) for when the craving hits. And I have a big bar of chocolate for when that craving hits too. Yum. Sugary goodness.

I tried dying my hair again yesterday but that didn't go too well. The hairdye was lighter than I realised and so now I have light brown roots and dark hair. Hmm. I'm hoping it looks kind of cool... but I suspect it just looks crap. Now I'm not working this weekend I am officially broke so I can't even afford to sort it out. Grr.

Jemma bought a new toy for us to play with. So I'm off to play!

Spam In The Ass

I just went through my mail and out of 162 messages only one was a real email. So I'm pimping. Cos it was real and cos they're really good.

Sunny Days Not Yet Over

I put my sunglasses away Friday evening, thinking summer was officially over. I was promised a stormy, wet weekend; turns out it was one of the sunniest of the month!

Saturday, The Boys won for the fourth week in a row! This is starting to become a regular occurence these days. If they're not careful I'll start thinking they're serious about this rugby lark ;)

Then on Sunday, Ray took me to Saundersfoot. The sun was bright and it was lovely and warm. We went to sit out on the pier-bit and watched the sea and the people milling around below.

Then we went scrambling over some rocks to look for fish (and the such) in the little pools of water. I personally think it was an excuse to try and make me fall over. But I didn't! Ha!

Just up from the beach were some tunnels cut into the rocks so we wandered through those.

Unfortunately, after sandwiches on the Old People's Benches, the sun decided to finally give up it's fight. It got really cold really quickly, so being a wimp I suggested we go for a drive rather than another walk. And we found ourselves at the Savoy pub. So we stopped for food.

The restaurant served us up some suspicious looking vege-lasagne's. But would you complain with a gun hanging on the wall opposite where you're eating? ;)

Once I'd eaten I felt so sleepy and full. So we headed out to the car and I snoozed a little.

After I woke up we headed back towards home and I saw a rainbow! Don't point at it or else it'll go away!

I got home to find someone had been missing me a lot and made me feel very guilty for leaving her all day:

And that was my weekend. You can see three more photos from the day Here @ my Live Journal.

I'm going to go back to arguing with AOL now. I'm trying to set up wireless broadband and AOL are not being very helpful - and it's their fault the damn thing won't work! Grrrrrr. It will not beat me.

FTP Access and Castles

Sorry for the lack of updates - already. My FTP access went down and it's taken a week to get it back up and running. Just my luck really. The guy who was helping me fix it had a problem with his laptop and was off the 'net for two days!

But, putting that aside, I visited Kidwelly Castle last weekend so thought I'd bombard you with some photos.

Kidwelly Castle

Me sitting in the window like a princess

Me and Ray trying to be spooky in the dark

The hole in the floor where they sent prisoners and never let them out again

Me sitting on the "throne"

Me then disgusted by the priest's toilet, which was down an extremely narrow and dark hallway

Some weird bugs we found feasting on the walls

I'm standing in a huge oven!

Ray had to outdo me and actually get in an oven

Murder Hole: where they dropped arrows on their enemies heads when they tried to breach the castle

The Watch Out For Perverts Pinching Your Bum sign

And that was my trip out to the castle. There's a few more pictures of the actual castle Here if you're interested.

PS: that post down there is one I tried to post during the week before I knew the ftp access had gone down. So two for the price of one this morning!

Green Peppers and Mushrooms

Tonight Ray took me out for pizza at Pizza Hut. I had a pizza with green peppers and mushrooms - two things I can never have if I go with Jem cos she doesn't like either. I also had a chocolate fudge cake. Mmmm. Needless to say I was bursting by the time we left.

Then it was off to HMV. I'm broke, though, so I couldn't buy anything. Plus, the only album I do really want right now is The Back Room by Editors. I'll get it soon enough I'm sure.

After that we went back to Ray's and watched most of Batman Begins. And his dog, Duke, gave me lots of kisses and then slept on my shoes and bag (apparently that means he likes me).

I've just done a big Myspace Friend Add. Cos I've been fairly anti-internet lately I haven't bothered checking friend requests so I had a bundle to get through. Considering most of them are from usually-crappy unsigned bands it's not exactly a fun task. But I was pleasantly surprised. Winter Jargon and Jubb & the Dirty Sleeves were two ones I was especially taken by.

I guess I'd better head off to bed soon. I've got The Rugby tomorrow so I need to be alert. Plus me being sleepy makes for some pretty cranky times at the moment. Meh. I think it's the changing of the seasons; it's made me lose my mind.

The Blues Versus The Ospreys

The blog lives again! What can I say? I got bored and missed it. This one is opening under the knowledge that if I get bored of it I'll not update it - for however long it takes for me to get over the boredom. So posts may well be sporadic. It really depends on my mood.

So, last night I went to see The Blues V The Osprey's in the Osprey's spanking new stadium (not that spanking on the inside, to be honest).

I got a shot of Gaaaaaaven Henson doing his funny leg-spin pre-conversion-taking.

And cos Czekaj stumbled close I had to get a picture of him too cos he's cute.

It was a good game. We even had an icky injury: Robin Taylor's right ankle went round the wrong way.

And that's the first blog entry. If you're happy it's back, thank Jem for whining at me to open it again.
