It's a bit insane how tired I get after dog-sitting. But I suppose I didn't sleep very well. There were no catastrophic events this time, which has to be a first in a long time ;) Something funny usually always happens to make the trip that bit more stressful. I think the fact that the dog has aged so much since I last took care of him was enough. There was a lot of insane old dog behaviour to contend with. Luckily I'd had a lot of practise with Auntie Martha so I knew how to handle him. And now there's a big - and I mean huge, as big as a dog! - cat living there too. He was very sweet, meaowed in greeting to me every time he saw me. While there I mostly indulged my obsession with the Tudor reign, and of course got reaquainted with "The Hills".
I got back yesterday evening, curled up on the sofa in my PJ's and watched Sweeney Todd. And promptly regretted that decision. Why has everyone told me that film is good? It's awful. It's just so boring - and the songs are lame. I was falling asleep before ten o-clock, hehe.
This morning I got up to feed Sweep and then we both went back to bed, curled up under the blankets and I read. I'm now onto the The Queen's Fool, which is about Mary, Katherine's daughter, and Elizabeth, Anne's daughter, who both become queen eventually, one following the other. I prefer the history of when Henry VIII is actually alive but I thought this one might be quite interesting. I have some vague ideas about each woman so it'll be nice to see what the book throws up. And, yes, I do know it's a work of fiction but the writer does base her stories in facts, but even then I don't read it as gospel. History can never be truly known.
The day ahead for me involves sorting out the washing and that's about it. Me and Sweep are going to cuddle on the sofa and I might go and see my husband in Fable II, as I'm sure he'll be missing me and needing sex by now. He has an insatiable appetite for sex! ;)
