Today I finally managed to get into town. I've been meaning to go for three days now ;) I did the banking. I tried on a pretty purple shirt but managed to persuade myself not to buy it. As much as a new shirt would be great I'd rather get some dresses in for the winter. This year I've bought some black tights so I can stop hiding in my jeans through the cold months. I have lovely dresses and skirts but I only ever wear them during the summer; it's a waste. Hopefully these tights will help to encourage me. And I'd like to buy in some nice new dresses. I feel like my wardrobe is leaning a bit towards childish. I want some grown-up clothes ;)
I also went to the library. Is anyone else's local library really bad for books? They have some really old books on the shelves. None of the new stuff. And with the history books - where I was browsing today - you really need to get the newer stuff cos they're always learning new things. I had to make do with a book published in 1992 because that was the only book they had on Henry VIII. I remember I went there for books about life in the 6th Century cos that's when Soul Mates is set and I really struggled to find anything that had been published in the last ten years. I know I can order books through them but the whole point of me being in the library is because I don't know what books I want, I just know the subject. I guess I'll have to start buying the books. But then I' wouldn't be supporting my local library! While there today I also picked up a book about Prince William and Harry. I can't resist my Royal boys ;) And that book was published in 2003 so there is hope that some fresh blood is being poured onto the bookshelves.
