I've done a little research on my illness and found a really good site - Labyrinthitis.org.uk. It's run by two women who haven't actually been able to get rid of the disease. The problem is that Labyrinthitis can cause long-term damage to your inner ear, which can leave you feeling dizzy and nauseas for the rest of your life. Eek!

I'm not panicking yet, don't worry ;) I'm sure mine will clear up perfectly fine, as most people do. A lot of people say they suffer from congestion and popping ears, which I haven't suffered from at all so I'm quietly confident this thing will run its course and leave me alone again. Looks as though I could be waiting another week, though. I'm on day eleven now.

The doctor told me "about two weeks" but it can last up to eight weeks. My tablets won't run out for another week and so because all the doctor can really do is just give me more to relieve the symptoms I'm going to wait until next week to go back. Of course, if I start getting worse or if I have to up the dose (I'm currently averaging about two a day but I can go up to three) then obviously I'll go back sooner. But really all I can do is sit back and wait.



Now that the tennis is over I have a feeling I'll very quickly lose my mind sitting on this sofa all day.
