Pretty little thing, isn't it? We're all quite impressed with how well it turned out. Our colours for the tree were the traditional red and gold, but we also have some teal-and-gold baubles, too, which I picked up a few months back. No tinsel just that glittery gold stringy stuff. And we have a gold star to guide the Wise Men. I couldn't decide on an angel or a star to top the tree, but decided the star was more traditional and right.
We have a few other decorations dotted around. Lots of funny little mechanical trees from Ray's family. A dancing snowman who I dance with a few times every day. I'll have to get a picture of him! Or maybe even a video so you can dance along, too! ;) I have a little village set from Ray's gran, which is so cute. If only Lucien would stop taking the trees and rolling them round the floor! We need batteries to make the lights work inside the houses so once they're bought I'll get some snaps. Other than that there's only some red ribbons dotted around the other rooms. We haven't gone mad but it definitely looks Christmassy.
I have an advent calendar, too. I'm such a child, it's ridiculous. Jem and I got them a few weeks back and we've been itching to get those doors opened ;)
We've bought in some of the nibbles-type food already. I think we'll save the main bulk of the food shop for a few days before Christmas. I know the shops will be mad and probably there will be no food left on the shelves (why do people go so crazy over food when it's holiday time?) but I want the fresh stuff to be good. I think we can get in some tins of chocolate and biscuits before then, though ;)
I can't believe how quickly Christmas is coming along. Ray will be finishing work in two weeks time and I cannot wait to just kick back with him and relax. There will be plenty of food, naff music, dodgy board games and maybe a few presents thrown in for good luck. I love Christmas time! :)
